They’re friends and classmates off the field.

But on both July 9 and 10, the 12-year-olds of the Queen Anne and Magnolia Little League All-Star teams were opponents, with the District 8 championship on the line. 

And after advancing out of the loser’s bracket, Queen Anne knocked off previously undefeated Magnolia twice with a pair of 5-3 wins to earn the district crown.

With the victory, the Queen Anne team — managed by Trevor Christianson alongside coaches John Kruse and Nick Ring — advanced to compete in the state championship.

They defeated PacWest 6-5 on Sunday in their first game.
