KEXP, in partnership with Seattle-based video production company Loaded Pictures, has launched a new video trailer campaign designed to promote the listener-supported music radio station.

The first installment of this series pairs Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready with Seattle director Lynn Shelton. In this episode, Shelton has enlisted McCready to score scenes from her upcoming movie, only to find McCready’s pyrotechnic guitar style dramatically challenging.

Audiences will get their first chance to see this trailer as a featured pre-roll for the Face the Music series at the Seattle International Film Festival running through June 9.

KEXP (kexp.org) will also include the trailer as part of its live streaming video series, “KEXP NOW.”

Future trailers will include appearances by DJ El Toro, John Roderick of the Long Winters, DJ Chilly, Colin Meloy of the Decemberists,  KEXP’s Kevin Cole, Galen Disston of Pickwick, DJ Sharlese and Mark Arm of Mudhoney.

KEXP and Loaded Pictures plan to do a second installment of videos beginning in July 2014.

All finished trailers will be released and posted to a special video page. These trailers will also make appearances at additional movie houses, including Ark Lodge Cinemas and Northwest Film Forum.
