The following are selected reports from the Seattle Police Department’s West Precinct. They represent the officers’ accounts of the events described.

Residential Squabble

Just after 8 p.m. on Sept. 8, police responded to an assault at an assisted living facility in the 2200 block of 15th Avenue West.

Staff at the facility reported that two residents had gotten into a fight, resulting in one resident punching the other in the face, and that resident retaliating by hitting the other with a plate.

The altercation began after one of the residents was heard insulting a staff member.

Medics from Seattle Fire Department responded to put a band aid on one of the residents.

They agreed to stay away from each other, so police didn’t file any charges.

Failed Burglary

At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 4, police responded to a business in the 500 block of Queen Anne Avenue North to investigate a burglary that occurred overnight.

The business manager stated the burglary occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. the previous night, and 7:55 a.m. that morning.

It is believed that the suspect jumped the patio wall from an alley on the west side of the building.

They pulled the main power meter off the wall, causing the business to lose power. They broke into a storage area on the patio and attempted to pry open a door to get inside the business, but they were unsuccessful.

The manager said nothing was missing from the business. Police searched the patio for fingerprints but didn’t find any.

Alarm Trip

Just after 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 4, police responded to an alarm trip at a restaurant in the 3000 block of Third Avenue North.

The alarm company reported that the dining room patio door and back bar motion alarms had been tripped at 12:24 a.m.

It appeared that the suspect had attempted to pry open a cage that held kegs. The lock was damaged with fresh pry marks, but it didn’t look like the suspect was successful.

There were old pry marks on a back door to the restaurant, but it didn’t look like the suspect had tried or succeeded into getting into the restaurant.
