The September cuts to King County Metro routes have spared Queen Anne and affected only two routes in Magnolia. These reductions start Sept. 27.

While none of the bus services in Queen Anne will change, these cuts are just one stage in a multi-step plan to reduce Metro service by 550,000 hours. This round will cut 161,000 bus hours. The next cuts will come in February 2015.

Route 19 from West Magnolia to Downtown Seattle will be cut. It is one of the lowest-performance routes in the system, according to Metro’s website. Riders can take buses 24, 33 and the Rapidride D Line instead. Route 24 will change, too. This route will extend along Viewmont Way West to Magnolia Boulevard West and West Emerson Street during peak morning and afternoon periods on weekdays.
