Seattle Swedish Community Scholarship’s (SSCS) has been providing college scholarships since 1968, when it was created within the Swedish Club of Seattle (1920 Dexter Ave. N.). Eight scholarships, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, will be awarded this year.

The Seattle Swedish Community Scholarships awards college scholarships to King County high school seniors based on high school record, ACT or SAT test scores, extracurricular activities, financial need and personal interviews. There is no heritage requirement.

High school seniors can access the scholarship application and more information at the Swedish Club’s website (swedishclubnw.org/scholarships.htm). All applications must be postmarked by U.S. Mail no later than March 31.

Since its inception, SSCS has awarded 199 scholarships totaling more than $388,000.
