There will be two public meetings next week regarding the next phase of the sewer improvement project near Smith Cove Park in Magnolia.

The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 32nd Avenue West and West Galer Street, where the construction will occur.

The second meeting will be Wednesday, March 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Discovery Park Visitors Center (3801 Discovery Park Blvd. W.).

Both meetings are informal open houses.

Construction has already begun on the South Magnolia Combined Sewer Overflow project. The project aims reduce overflows during storms when the West Point Treatment Plant is full.

This phase of construction will add a new sewer line on 32nd Avenue West.
