King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) and the Seattle Parks and Recreation will have their Friends of Discovery Park annual meeting next Saturday, March 8.

The meeting will take place at the Discovery Park Visitor’s Center (3801 Discovery Park Blvd.) from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be refreshments at 9:30 a.m.

Parks and WTD staff will host a panel and provide updates. Parks’ Patti Petesch will talk about general park issues, Belinda Chin will discuss the Environmental Learning Center and Eric Friedli will talk about the Metropolitan Park Districts proposal and the effect that would have on Discovery Park.

From WTD, Dan Grenet and Al Williamson will give an update on the treatment plant, Erica Jacobs will give an update on the “next steps” for the proposed gate on Discovery Park Boulevard and Monica Van Der Vieren will talk about a proposal for truck-hauling biosolids through the park.
